Twelfth Night, traditionally observed on January 5th, marks the eve of Epiphany (January 6th), the culmination of the twelve days of Christmas.
For a winter potluck supper, warm a brick or rock under the wood stove and use it to keep casseroles or other dishes warm en route. Wrap the stone and covered dish together in a clean bath towel and place them in a sturdy box.
If you have an open bottle of wine, plunge the cork into boiling water before reinserting it in the bottle. This will soften it and make it easier to use.
